Are you open to the public?
Yes, our showroom is open to the public by appointment between 10am-4pm Mon-Fri. Pick ups and deliveries may be scheduled during our normal operating hours.
Do you offer measurement or installation?
We currently do not offer installation or on-site measurement. We do have companies we can refer you to for these services. For small orders fitting in-between walls and other odd-shaped spaces we do offer a template service for a fee.
Can you make a cut out for my sink?
Yes, we can do sink cut outs for both over-mount and under-mount sinks. We typically require the sink to be present in our shop so we can ensure a proper fit. If you have an apron or farmhouse sink that is already installed to your cabinets, we can work with the provided template or you may submit the actual measurements needed for the cut out.
Do you offer delivery?
Yes, we offer delivery within a 60 mile radius of downtown Chicago (deliveries outside this area may be considered on a case by case basis). Pricing varies based on location and the load-in situation (curbside drop off, first floor walk in, 3rd floor walk up, building with elevator, etc). Deliveries outside the 60 mile radius are taken at the discretion of Chicago Butcher Block.
What species do you carry in stock?
We carry 1.5” thick Maple and small quantities of 1.5” thick Black Walnut with a Durakryl 102 finish. We can provide a mineral oil finish for an additional fee.
What is your lead time for custom orders?
We generally carry a 3-4 week lead time for custom fabricated tops that we modify from our own inventory. Special orders that are made to order from our manufacturers generally take around 5-7 weeks, these are usually counters or islands that are deeper than 36”.
My project is running behind schedule, can we expedite an order?
We custom fabricate jobs in the order which we receive them and special orders made to size by our manufacturers are also not available for rush orders. If a rush is required, you may purchase the stock sizes we have available and your contractor/installer/carpenter may modify them.
What are your standard sizes?
Maple comes in depths of 25”, 30” and 36” deep with lengths by the foot from 36” to 144”. Black Walnut stock sizes come in 25” x 48”, 72”, 96”, 120” while 30” and 36” deep tops come in 72” & 96”. Larger sizes and custom shapes are “Special Orders” to be made custom by one of our manufacturers.
TERMS & CONDITIONS:
Wood is a natural product and variation of color and grain is to be expected. Deposits are non-refundable. All specifications must be provided with deposit.
Once a “Special Order” is submitted, no alterations may be made later.
There are no refunds or exchanges accepted on custom fabricated tops. Exclusions to this are limited to the following which are considered at the discretion of CBB & our manufacturers:
-Manufacturing defects such as splitting
-Tops manufactured to specifications not consistent with customer approved shop drawing.
Unfinished counter tops and tops with sink cut outs carry no factory warranty. Water damage and general wear and tear are not covered under any warranty.
